چکیده

Abstract A phylogeny based on the analysis of six DNA sequence markers (ITS, ndhA intron, rpl32‐trnL , rps3, rps16 and rps16‐trnK ) is used to infer ancestral areas divergence times, reconstruct biogeographical history evolution 150 183 (82%) species Muhlenbergia . Our results suggest that genus originated 9.3 mya in Sierra Madre (Occidental Oriental) Mexico, splitting into lineages: M. ramulosa diverging 8.2 mya, M subg. at 5.9 Pseudosporobolus Clomena 5.4 Bealia 4.3 Trichochloa 1 each these with a high probability Madrean origin. further founder‐event speciation from South America occurred independently multiple times all five subgenera during Pleistocene late Pliocene. One long‐distance dispersal event most likely originating Central or Eastern North East Asia 1.6–1 In our cladogram, members show little genetic resolution, suggesting very low levels among species, this may be consequence rapid radiation.

Monograph of Diplachne (Poaceae, Chloridoideae, Cynodonteae)

Diplachne P. Beauv. comprises two species with C4 (NAD-ME) photosynthesis. Diplachne fusca has a nearly pantropical-pantemperate distribution with four subspecies: D. fusca subsp. fusca is Paleotropical with native distributions in Africa, southern Asia and Australia; the widespread Australian endemic D. f. subsp. muelleri; and D. f. subsp. fascicularis and D. f. subsp. uninervia occurring in t...

A phylogeny and classification of the Muhlenbergiinae (Poaceae: Chloridoideae: Cynodonteae) based on plastid and nuclear DNA sequences.

UNLABELLED PREMISE OF THE STUDY To understand the origins of C(4) grasslands, we must have a better interpretation of plant traits via phylogenetic reconstruction. Muhlenbergiinae, the largest subtribe of C(4) grasses in Mexico and the southwestern United States (with 176 species), is taxonomically poorly understood. • METHODS We conducted a phylogenetic analysis of 47 genera and 174 speci...

A molecular phylogeny and classification of the Eleusininae with a new genus, Micrachne (Poaceae: Chloridoideae: Cynodonteae)

The subtribe Eleusininae Dumort. (Poaceae: Chlorid oideae: Cynodonteae) is a morphologically diverse group, characterized by having racemose inflorescences (with a few exceptions) and contains about 212 species in 31 genera found primarily in low latitudes in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. Ten of the genera are currently monotypic (Apochiton C.E.Hubb., Austrochloris Lazarides, Dakn...

Disakisperma Steud. is a genus of four predominantly perennial C4 (NAD-ME) species in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Its species previously were treated in Eleusine, Eragrostis, Coelachyrum, Cypholepis, Leptochloa, or Diplachne by nearly all authors. It includes the widespread North and South American amphitropical disjunct Disakisperma dubium (type of the genus), Disakisperma eleusine from sou...

Systematics of Trigonochloa (Poaceae, Chloridoideae, Chlorideae)

A systematic treatment including descriptions and a key for identification is provided for the two species of Trigonochloa, a genus recently segregated from the polyphyletic Leptochloa s.l. Trigonochloa ranges from southern Africa east to India and Sri Lanka, reflecting the widely ranging Trigonochloa uniflora. Trigonochloa rupestris has a more limited distribution from East Africa to Yemen. Tr...
